![]() ![]() There's some stuff I don't like, like the focus on military dudes and waiting for your teammates to open the doors for you. There are more open spaces, those levels at the top of the towers, when you activate the lasers and you could see the alien landscape in the background were probably my favorite levels of both games. The graphics and general feel of the gameplay were improved from Doom 3. I liked that it's a direct sequel to Quake II, my favorite of the franchise, and to see all the updated models of the same enemies was a treat. I played both of them recently and also found Quake IV to be the better game, to my surprise, since most reviews pay no mind to Q4 and praise Doom 3 incessantly, even more if you read reviews and forum impressions at the time of release. After Bitterman disabled the Big Gun that protected Stroggos from a large scale invasion and killed the Makron, Earth Forces decide to launch an attack and finish the war.ĭeveloped by Raven Software using Id Tech 4 (Doom 3's engine) it's a straight upgrade in terms of gameplay.
